So, have you ever noticed how many images of people speaking on headsets/in call centers are on the Web? Or used in ads for contact center technology providers? Because, ugh….I have. So, I decided to make a little gallery of some of my favorites. Click on the link to see the photo in question!
This one is confusing – is she outside? Is she in a glass-encased environment? What exactly is going on here? She also looks totally Scandinavian. I can spot a fellow Viking anywhere.
I am super high-tech call center agent. I have 0′s and 1′s in front of me to represent the Information Age, computers, and the vast array of information contained within my call recorders and speech analytics system.
I’m willing to bet good money this picture was made when “Roseanne” was still running original episodes. Either way, she’s having fun. And is that a headset/actual phone combo? Whoa!
Whoever made this image: thanks, you have totally creeped me out, and ruined my Friday night.
In the words of Wayne’s World : “Extreme close-up! Whoaaaa!”

Lauren, I’m glad I am not the only one who has noticed this phenomena. What really disturbs me is how little consideration we netizens seem to have for these people.
Lets call her “Rachel” – Working Happily
I first encountered this poor girl over a year ago. Initially, I admired her for her cheerful outlook and I was happy to see that she had found work in a casual business where she could wear a nice polo to work in her cool blue office.
But then I saw “Rachel” again… Sheer Terror!
The very next time I saw her I noticed a problem. Clearly her office was built on a swamp and one side of the office is obviously sinking into the soft muck. She is still smiling, but there is a look of mad, mad, mad desperation in her eyes. She wants to work, she wants to do a good job for an employer who’s headquarters are sinking ever further into the swamp. Despite her best efforts to stay cheerful, her eyes cannot conceal the panic she clearly feels.
We should find this woman and rescue her as soon as possible.
Whoa, you’re right on about her crazy-eye. Somehow I have a feeling that most call center agents wear sweatpants and oversized t-shirts. I mean, that’s what I would do. But the tone in my voice would definitely border on insane.
I’m totally wearing an oversized t-shirt. um… Sweatpants are for Saturdays!
