shuffle

Apple today announced the release of its new iPod Shuffle–an even smaller version of the popular product that the company is billing as “the first music player that talks to you.”

That’s right, Speech-Heads: the new Shuffle has Speech!

According to a statement from Apple: “The revolutionary new VoiceOver feature enables iPod shuffle to speak your song titles, artists, and playlist names.”

The new Shuffle, with a press of a button, can tell users the name of the current song and artist–it can even tell you status information, such as battery life.  And the new Shuffle can speak 14 languages including English, Czech, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, and Turkish.

When my Speech Brother Eric B. heard this news, he nearly pitched a fit!
