More speech for you and for me!!!!Hey Speech-Heads,

After my post about TweetCall, I got an email from Dial2Do, another company that offers a voice integration for TwitterAND FOR 50 OTHER SERVICES!!!!

When I told my Speech Brother Eric B. about this, he started dancing about the Home Office to Big Band hits of the 1920s and 30s.  For those of you who don’t know Eric B., nothing gets him that worked up except for his Book Collection.

So, in the coming days, check back in with us at Speech Tech Blog for more about Dail2Go.

tweet tweetHey Speech-Heads,

If you haven’t already taken a look at the Speech Technology News Feature from yesterday about TweetCall, then now is the time!

TweetCall is a new way to use Twitter–via the power of speech technology.  For all the speechy details about this new offering from Quicktate that let’s you “Twitter By Voice” check out this link.

As you can probably guess, my Speech Brother Eric B. and I were naturally very excited to try out TweetCall for ourselves.  We huddled around my computer, logged onto Twitter, registered at TweetCall, dialed 1-877-TWEET-CALL and got down to business.

And let me just say this:  TweetCall worked like a charm.

My spoken tweet was correctly converted to text and appeared in my Twitter feed almost immediately.

So if you haven’t already, check out TweetCall.  You can also find them on Twitter: @TweetCall.  And don’t forget to follow @SpeechTech on Twitter while you’re at it.

Hey Speech-Heads,

So I was talking to my Speech Brother Eric B. this morning about all the usual things–zombies, the crushing flow of time, hosted speech solutions, what to eat for lunch–when it dawned on me: Speech Tech is on Twitter and many of you Social Media Savvy Speech-Heads may be sadly unaware.

So, if you Twitter, follow SpeechTech for One-Stop Speech-Enabled Tweets. We will provide you with all the latest in the world of Speech Technology and updates about SpeechTEK 2009.

And, we will follow you back, I promise.

twitterThis morning I received a phone call.

To many of you, this may not seem particularly exciting.

But consider that since I started working here, I have received exactly two phone calls:

  1. A wrong number from someone trying to reach a local falafel stand.
  2. A call last week that was mostly heavy breathing and curse words.

So, this call was–to say the very least–a milestone.  And to make a long story short, we at Speech Technology Magazine and the Speech Tech Blog are now on Twitter.

What is Twitter, you ask.

Well, according to Twitter’s site: “Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?”

Yes, friends: You can get the latest speech technology news, blogs, information and much, much more via an online update–or tweet, as they are called–at this location.

Let the tweeting begin!
